Description

This training will cover all aspects of the Boren Awards for International Study and the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, designed to provide resources and best practices for enhancing your advising practice and developing a study abroad culture on campus. Topics covered include: Roles and Responsibilities (Outreach, Advising, Campus Interview Coordination, Managing the Application System, Publicity etc.), Resources for Student and Advisers, Types of Awards, Eligibility, Grant Benefits, and Application Components and Timeline. Advisers will also have the opportunity to connect with peers to discuss successes and challenges they have encountered in the promotion of the programs and advising of applicants.

The Boren Awards (Scholarships & Fellowship) presentation will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm; the Fulbright U.S. Student Program presentation will run from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Lunch will be served from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Please indicate which session(s) you will be attending.
