Event description

Description

The Border Crosser's Professional Learning opportunity consists of two full day workshops for NYCDOE teachers about how to talk to students about race in the classroom. Through this training, you and your mentee or mentor will strengthened your analysis of how racism manifests in schools and classrooms, enhance your understanding of how racism affects children, practice utilizing tools to address race and racism with students, and gain strategies to support a school-wide culture of respect, equity and inclusivity.

If you are interested in and ready to engage in this important work together, we ask that you and your mentee/mentor attend both days of training, commit time to implement strategies from the workshop and to work together in promoting a culture where young people thrive in racially equitable, liberating, and empowering educational spaces.

Please note: You are signing up to attend two full days of professional learning and principal's permission required.
