Event description

Description

Venture and angel capital are not the only ways to launch your edtech startup. So, what does it take to grow your company and keep your mission central through capital from sales and partnerships? What are the business and personal considerations that you need to keep in mind as you are planning your entrepreneurial journey without external capital? These are key questions that an entrepreneur in the ed-tech space must ask.

During this session, participants will:
  • Evaluate when bootstrapping your venture might make sense
  • Discuss the range of strategies that can help you drive organic growth
  • Explore lessons for building and growing your organization

Facilitator

Jill Frankfort is the Co-founder and President of Persistence Plus, a mission-driven company that helps colleges and non-profit organizations propel more students to college success and a degree. Persistence Plus leverages behavioral nudging, mobile technology and an intelligent software solution to engage and support students in a cost-effective and personal fashion. Results show that Persistence Plus students perform better academically and persist at greater rates than students without the service. Ms. Frankfort was previously a Kauffman Foundation Education Ventures Fellow and a director at Jobs for the Future, where she worked with colleges and districts across the country to improve educational outcomes.
