9:30 - 10 p.m. — Closing, more food available, more browsing and mingling
How it works
- Several local beer providers will set up tasting stations throughout the Central Library in downtown Kansas City. Each brewery will offer samples of 2-3 beer styles.
- Attendees will be organized into 4 small groups that will rotate among the tasting stations every 25 minutes. Groups will visit each station one time in order to sample all the beer options available. Think of it as speed-dating with breweries.
- Brewers will visit with guests and talk about their featured beers, their company history, and host brief Q&A sessions with each group. Brewers will also highlight books that have inspired or influenced them.
In addition, Library staff will be on hand to answer questions about books, highlight new products such as our digital streaming movie and music services, our roster of speaker events and programs, and more. We’ll also quench your thirst for knowledge by providing beer-themed recommended reading lists.
Parking
Guests can park in the Community Bookshelf Library District Garage at 10th and Baltimore.
Library guests can get their parking ticket validated for free during the event.
