Enjoy time networking with colleagues and with good friends old and new while sharing local food and drinks. Books On Tap features food and fare from a host of local favorites.
Your ticket includes:
- An assortment of fantastic appetizers and desserts
- Three drink coupons
- One raffle ticket
Tickets are $35 today (early bird was $25). Additional raffle tickets are available at the event for $5 each or 5 for $20.
Last year, Reach Out and Read Kansas City provided more than 83,000 new, culturally, and developmentally appropriate books and literacy advice to nearly 30,000 low income children, birth to age 5, and their families during well-child checkups at 51 partner clinics located throughout the metro. Through Reach Out and Read, each child can build a 15-book library before they enter kindergarten. For many families, these are the only books in their home. By attending Books On Tap, you are providing enough support to purchase 5 books - a full third of their 15-book library!
Don’t forget to bring a valid ID as all guests must provide one to enter. Price of admission includes: three drink coupons, appetizers, entertainment, and one raffle ticket. Plenty of free parking is available on either level 1 or 2 of the parking garage located in front of the building. Tickets are nonrefundable.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be at least 21 to enter and have your picture ID available.

When & Where
Reach Out and Read Kansas City
Read Out and Read Kansas City began in 1997 as a collaboration between pediatricians at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics and KU Pediatrics at KU Medical Center. The unique partnership continues to thrive today and has grown to a coalition of over 50 clinics in greater Kansas City with an emphasis on serving our community's most vulnerable children at-risk for reading and school failure.
Reach Out and Read Kansas City makes literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric care so that children grow up with access to books, engaged parents, and enter school ready to learn. Reach Out and Read Kansas City is the only medically-based early literacy program improving the quality of life and health for over 29,000 predominantly at-risk Kansas City young children (birth-5years) and families. Each year, more than 75,000 books are distributed annually in clinics that help promote reading readiness and school success.
