Event description

Description

Paste papers have been made by bookbinders for hundreds of years and were used for endpapers and book covers. In this workshop, you will learn how to make the paste and use household objects in creative ways to pattern your papers. Students will first experiment with techniques on small papers, followed by some on larger sheets.

We will then create a blank accordion book, which you will cover with one of your newly made paste papers.

What to bring: old clothes to wear (you will get dirty), any kind of tool you can scratch designs with (forks, clothespin, spatulas, rubber stamps, etc.)
