ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kristin Marguerite Doidge is an award-winning journalist, professor, and speaker based in Los Angeles. Her writing has been featured in The Atlantic, Marie Claire, FORTUNE, xoJane, Bustle, KCRW/NPR, Time Out Los Angeles, GOOD magazine, ETOnline.com, GIRLBOSS, and the Los Angeles Business Journal. She earned multiple NAEJ Awards and Los Angeles/Southern California Press Club Award nominations. She has a master's degree in specialized journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and teaches journalism and strategic public relations at Loyola Marymount University.

ABOUT THE INTERLOCUTOR

Michele Raphael is a veteran arts, culture, entertainment, and lifestyle journalist in Los Angeles. Cofounder of online literary magazine Angels Flight • literary west and Leadership Circle Member of nonprofit Visionary Women, she has held key editorial roles at LA Weekly, Los Angeles Times, and Westways and served as Publications Director at USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center. Her work has appeared in Billboard, HuffPost, Glamour, Los Angeles Review of Books, Los Angeles Times, Quartz, Variety, and more. A former National Press Foundation Fellow, she holds a master’s degree in journalism from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
