Event description

Description

Time for an old-fashoned book swap. Here's the lowdown:

1) Everyone brings three books. One they loved as a child. One they loved as a teenager. One they loved as an adult.

2) Used or new paperback books are encouraged, to keep down costs. Just make sure the used copies are in decent, readable shape.

3) All the books go on a table, we socialize and talk books for a while, and then everyone goes home with three new books.

And that's that.

Food and drink will be provided.

If by chance we end up with duplicates or leftovers, I will take them and release them into the wild using BookCrossing.com

Location is the Student Lounge in the Arts Building at the University of Alberta. The Lounge is on the main floor, directly to the right of the front entrance.

The event is open to all book lovers, but the number of spots available is restricted. Please register if you'd like to attend. If this works and people enjoy it, I'll consider holding a larger event.

“Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.” --Lemony Snicket

**UPDATE**

Due to some questions, some clarity on a couple items:

1) People are not expected to give up their own copies. They can if they want, but really the idea is to track down used or new copies from bookstores. My hope is that some pre-event book hunting adds to the fun, in fact.

2) A kid's book you read as an adult does not count towards the book you loved as a child. And so on.
