ABOUT DELILAH'S DAUGHTER

"These poems hit chest, mind, skin, and heart the way music does. And then there are the breaks. And the breakbeats, if you will. In them, we find the voices of other women, the lyrical samples of stunning artist, the stories ancestors shared, and the lessons learned from a life lived calling on the women Davalos names for strength. When you read women of color poetry by artists who proudly and purposefully identify as such, you have an opportunity to learn, listen, internalize, and listen even more. Davalos's work is heavily influenced by poets like Nayyirah Waheed, Alex Elle, and Rupi Kaur." (Forward written by Janice Lobo Sapigao)
