Farfields Farm and Deuteronomy Press would like to invite you to celebrate the official launch of our newest poetry collection, My Georgical Jubilism, written by up-and-coming author Dan Thomas. Hosted by Farfields Farm, and featuring an afternoon of open-mic poetry reading and more, this is one event that you certainly don’t want to miss!

The poems in My Georgical Jubilism are at once both introspective and altogether omniscient, skillfully exploring the human spirit and covering an array of topics ranging from the juxtaposition of both the sun and the moon, nature, identity, passion, and heartache. In his own unique way, Thomas addresses the burning questions residing in the heart of every inquisitive soul: How do we lose ourselves, seek ourselves, and find ourselves again? How does the search for identity expose us to new passions, new spirits, and new symbols? What does it mean to find God in nature, in community, or in words?

About the Author:

Dan Thomas attended public school in Huntsville, AL, where he proceeded to become a chess master and the valedictorian of his high school. He holds degrees in philosophy from Harvard College and law from the University of Alabama. The poems in My Georgical Jubilism were written during Thomas’s extended residency at Farfields Farm in 2016, and his personal experiences in Virginia form the emotional and spiritual core of this deeply introspective collection.

Event hosted by Farfields Farm:
