Bonsai - The Vision of Muhammad Yunus
Exclusive Fundraiser & Distributors Pre-Screening
The LA Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance is proud to host a preview screening of Bonsai - The Vision of Muhammad Yunus.
WHY? To learn about one of the fathers of social enterprise. And so inspiring!
What if you could harness the power of the free market to soAlve the problems of poverty, hunger, and inequality? To some, it sounds impossible, but Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus is doing just that. Bonsai is an emotionally compelling look at several women receiving microcredit loans and how it empowers them. Through their stories, we see what Yunus saw - microcredit is an important tool, but financial woes are not their only problem - they have needs which simple business solutions can help fulfill.
Bonsai is the first film tracking his work from microcredit through to social business. Microcredit is just the tip of the iceberg!
Muhammad Yunus is one of seven people to ever recieve the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.
About The Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) is the only member organization in North America to bring together the diverse field of social enterprise. It serves as advocate for the field, hub of information and education, and builder of a vibrant and growing community of social enterprises.
