Daniel Steinberg

Attorney Managing Shareholder at Trainor Fairbrook

As the Managing Shareholder of Trainor Fairbrook and chair of the Construction Department, my practice focuses on matters related to construction and real property litigation. I represent landlords, developers, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in all matters regarding contract negotiations and formation, construction defect issues, contract disputes and mechanics’ liens. I have worked with lenders, developers and owners to create and review contracts that protect them from contractor claims, prevent jobs from stopping midway and prevent payment disputes at project completion.

Having "swung a hammer" myself for ten years before law school, I have first-hand experience with construction industry issues. I work diligently to help my clients avoid risks leading to litigation. For years, I have supported clients in lease disputes, owner and contract protective measures and ADA matters. I am often hired to negotiate resolutions to mid-construction disputes. My experience in this area allows clients to keep their projects on track while avoiding costly litigation. Regardless what my clients seek help with, I believe in protecting them to make and take a profit on each project.

I frequently present on mechanics’ lien law and owner protective measures to industry associations and Lorman’s Educational Seminars. I have served as a Pro Tem Judge for the El Dorado County Superior Court.

I am grateful to have received much recognition during my legal career including being named to Sacramento’s Super Lawyers Top 25 Attorneys and Northern California’s Super Lawyers Top 100 Attorneys lists. I have an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale Hubbell®, and am recognized as a Best Lawyer®s in America. I have been named to Sacramento Magazine’s Top Lawyers list since 2015 and the Sacramento Business Journal’s Best of Bar list since 2016.
