In a neighborhood where people earn less and die sooner than the average city resident, an anchor institution is working with unflagging persistence to make a significant change.
That institution is Bon Secours Baltimore Health System. We invite you to come see for yourself why Baltimore – even the poorest neighborhood in Baltimore -- has great hope. Because here, we believe wellbeing begins outside our hospital’s walls.
We stop evictions. Train for jobs. Teach parenting skills. Demonstrate healthy cooking. Get folks exercising. Beautify vacant lots. Prepare peoples’ tax returns. Give hope to the addicted. Dignify those who feel unwanted. We even offer ten times more housing units than hospital beds.
We are setting a national standard for addressing the whole person in population health, so we may lessen their chances of becoming a patient inside our hospital walls.
PLEASE JOIN US FOR A TOUR ON YOUR LUNCH HOUR, PLUS AN EXTRA HOUR. Hop in our van, and see our campus. Meet our staff, and hear first-hand from local residents how their lives are changing. Eat a simple and healthy lunch (we have you covered with that!), and experience how we physically, emotionally, and spiritually nourish our neighbors. We promise you will come away feeling uplifted.
