Where the Wild Things Are - A Mask Making Performance Camp: Ages 8-14

Meets Monday - Friday August 14-18th, 9am - 2pm. Performance on August 18th at 1:30pm.

Explore the awesome world of mask making and performance with this week long camp. Students will create a unique mask and learn performing skill for working in each individual mask, culminating in a performance adapted from Where the Wild Things Are. Students will take their masks home as a class souvenir.

- Facilitated by Miss Julia Bennett

All classes and performance will be held at Boise Little Theater, 100 E. Fort St., Boise, ID

Students are asked to come to class in comfortable play clothes (no skirts, please), shoes that stay on their feet (no flip flops, please), and bring a labeled water bottle.

Payment is appreciated by the first day of class. On the first day of classes, guests are invited to stay for the first 20 minutes. After that time, classes are closed to observers. A waiting area adjacent to the classroom is available. Thank you in advance for respecting this policy.

All classes conclude with an observation day or showcase performance for an invited audience. You can expect that TVCT performing arts programs will help your child improve performance skills like projection, enunciation, concentration and creating character. But, more importantly, TVCT programs introduce your child to important life skills such as creative problem solving, working through high-pressure moments, managing disappointment, teamwork, and increased self confidence.

TVCT performing arts experiences offer youth a safe space within which to:

  • Find courage to overcome fears, try new things and face challenges new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Master commitment to the process of developing something unique, setting goals and earning rewards.
  • Practice respect for themselves, their peers, their community, and the transformative power of the arts.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the transformative power of the arts and their unique talents to change the world.
  • Strive for excellence by being the best version of ourselves in everything we do.

Enrolling your child in a TVCT program isn’t just about putting them on stage in a cute costume, it’s an investment in your child’s future. We are changing the world one theater kid at a time.
