Boise Beard Bazaar
Sat, May 6, 2017, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM MDT
Boise Beard Bazaar will be The Boise Beardsmen 4th Beard and Moustache competition. This extravagant event will be held @ Payette Brewery (off River st) on Saturday May 6th 2017 @ 4:00 pm. There will be vendors, insane raffle prizes, and a facial hair contest! 50% proceeds of all beer purchases during the event will be donated to the charity. Facial hair contestants: $20 (Junior Build-a-Beard is free); Spectators: $0, donations accepted.
All proceeds will be going to benefit Genesis Service Dogs (www.genesisservicedogs.com/). Genesis Service Dogs is a Meridian Idaho-based, 501(c) tax exempt non-profit corporation that breeds, raises and trains service dogs to assist children and adults with special needs from PTSD to Glycemic Alert dogs.
This will be an FHL sanctioned event to keep the judging streamlined and transparent. There will be 5 judges.
There will be 10 Facial hair categories. And of course will be an overall “Best in Show” chosen by the judges.
There are clubs that travel well and represent Our Bearded Community with style wherever they go. For that reason The Boise Beardsmen wish to recognize this with the Best Represented Club award. This award will be based on the club with most competitors at the Bazaar.
There are also individuals who travel to Bearding events with the same ideals and class. The Boise Beardsmen would like to single out the person who has traveled the farthest with a presentation at the Bazaar.
The Boise Beardsmen would also like to honor the rugged horde who attended our last competition on 28 November 2015. Under perhaps the most brutal conditions ever for an outdoor Bearding event, without the promised patio heaters, camaraderie was built by sharing body heat. We proudly announce the Survivor Patch for anyone who was at that event and is brave enough to return for the Beard Bazaar. This patch will be available at registration.
Note: Competitors are permitted to use beard balms and beard oils in their facial hair the day of the competition for maintenance purposes. It is suggested to apply them earlier in the day to allow them time to soak in and prevent sheen on the facial hair during the competition. In other words... no drippy facial hair.
