May you breathe in the aroma of goodness and breathe out what needs to be let go.

- from Blessing of the Body by Joyce Rupp

Body Prayer can help us resist the idea that the body is something we need to renounce or transcend in order to experience communion with God. Instead, this prayer invites us to be in our bodies, embrace our physicality as a way to ground ourselves, and find oneness with the divine and with all living things. As you pray this prayer it can help you connect your heart, mind and body and to more fully experience God’s love for every part of you.

Our time together begins with an introduction to Julian of Norwich and Sr. Joyce Rupp, who have both influenced the practice of Body Prayer. Simple breath work will then move us into a meditative mood, followed by an invitation to join with words and movement into the experience of Body Prayer.

All are welcome. Body Prayer can be done standing or seated and is open to all faith traditions. Plan to dress comfortably. If you would like to extend your time in contemplation this Advent, choose the Day Retreat option, that includes a private retreat room in addition to the program.

Tuesday December 6, 2022 10am - 11am $10, online registration required by 12/5

with optional Day Retreat Room $35, online registration closes 11/29

Please arrive by 9:45am for the program or 9:00 am if choosing the retreat room option
