Cornerstone is beginning a new project in a collaboration with Ana María Alvarez, choreographer and Founding Artistic Director of Activist Dance Theater CONTRA-TIEMPO, exploring the relationship between activism and the body: The Body Politic.

We are in the earliest dreaming stages for this project and we will look to the important social movements of our times to gain a deeper understanding of them, and the people who commit their lives and bodies to a cause. This lab is the first of many different activities that will explore these movements. Over the course of a lengthy process, and in collaboration with this community of activism, we will create a theatrical show animated by the stories that emerge from this process.

We ask you to join us, to share your voice with this process, and move with us as we learn about what moves you. Come to one or both of these events! Look for more opportunities later this summer.

There is no dance experience necessary to attend and this event is free for anyone to participate.

This participatory experience takes place outside at Grand Park.
