Bobby BlackHat

Bobby BlackHat, Virginia’s Blues Ambassador, award winning recording artist, harmonica player, vocalist, songwriter, comedian, actor, and producer has been playing harmonica for over 50 years. Bobby is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander with 27 years of distinguished service which included serving as Military Aide to the President and being awarded the Coast Guard Medal for Heroism.

He has opened for music legends: B.B King, Taj Mahal, Delbert McClinton, Patti Labelle, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Ramsey Lewis, and The Nighthawks. He has also performed with Eddie Shaw, Kenny Neal, Guitar Shorty, Ruthie Foster, Tas Cru, Jason Ricci, Slam Allen, Mick Kolassa, Fernando Jones, Memphis Gold, and Lurrie Bell. BlackHat is a judge for the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

Bobby BlackHat blends the influences of Chicago, Memphis, Piedmont, and Delta style blues along with a little Gospel into a Toe Tappin’, Finger Poppin’, Hip Shakin’ Blues experience. Joining Bobby will be Lucy Kilpatrick (keys), Brian Eubanks (bass), Mike Behlmar (drums), and special guest Larry Berwald (guitar).

Memphis Gold

Memphis Gold has come a long way on a journey that has lasted half a century. Nine international tours and several festivals worldwide have brought Memphis Gold’s high energy blues to audiences in Thailand, Sweden, Hungary, Turkey, Germany, Croatia, Macedonia, Egypt, Japan, Korea, The Marshall Islands, Guam, Guantanamo Bay and so many more. His international appeal landed him on the cover of the world’s oldest blues magazine, Sweden’s Jefferson Blues Magazine, the Living Blues Magazine (USA), the Block Magazine (Netherlands), and the cover of Blues and Rhythm Magazine in the United Kingdom.

Having released four full length albums to date, he has shared the stage billing with such artists as Bernard Allison, David Banner, Eric Bibb, Billy Branch, James Brown, R.L. 2008 posed a dramatic turning point in Memphis Gold’s career. In a life threatening accident, doctors stated that there was very little chance of him ever being able to walk again. Despite these early warnings, he continued to write songs from his hospital bed. Through rigorous rehabilitation and pure determination to continue performing, Memphis Gold has recovered his mobility and is once again taking stages coast to coast and internationally.

Mojo Parker

Mojo Parker welcomes you to join him on his musical odyssey. His voice is recognized over the Blue Ridge Mountains, down to the Gulf Coast, and into the heart and soul of Memphis, TN. As a two time Semi-Finalist and recent 2020 Finalist of the International Blues Challenge, Mojo is getting recognition and well received attention for his raw, intimate and passionate performance style. Blending a soulful sound with a new and refreshed look at old time classics, you’ll be transported back to a time where songs were real life stories that told the tales of the traveling troubadours of the Blues.

Billy Joe Daniel Band

Billy Joe Daniel has been performing professionally since the age of seven, starting in Memphis and Las Vegas as an Elvis tribute artist alongside Bruno Mars and Dean Z. He later attended college at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and held multi-year residencies at BB Kings Club Universal Studios & the legendary Pig and Whistle in Hollywood.

Opening for music legends such as Dave Mason & Traffic and many others, Billy continued playing, writing, and recording with Crazy Tomes, the Chambers Brothers, Guitar Shorty, and others. Billy Joe has competed at International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in both the solo and band categories. His musical soulmate and wife, Katie Daniel, a very talented vocalist and dancer has been performing since she was a child (ballet, tap, theater, cruise ships, movies, and television). Billy Joe will be joined by local & international blues legends Von Jose Roberts on bass and Smithfield Dash on drums.
