Extra June Workshop!!! Please note the later time of 6-8pm - perfect unwind after a day at work.
Join Lace Art Social at The Textile Collective to learn the basics of bobbin lace making. This workshop is perfect for those who are new to the craft and want to give it a try. You will be guided through the essential techniques and taught some basic stitches through a hands-on taster session. All equipment and materials will be provided for you to use, and everything will be set up so you can start making straight away. You will also be introduced to some historical and contemporary lace examples to inspire you. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to discover your new obsession and meet fellow lace enthusiasts!
You will find The Textile Collective on Priory Walk opposite the Sainsbury's in the city centre. The workshop will take place upstairs in the Sewing Room, above the Eco Habedashery.

No experience required - the session is all about having a go and trying it out.
Materials and equipment will be secondhand, salvaged or handmade from leftover sources. We will use reclaimed threads from The Textile Collective’s Community Haberdashery. Lacemaking has a tradition of sharing and passing on to the new generation and we hope to uphold this ethos as much as we can.
