Bob Wilbur holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois.  He is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a certified Project Management Professional.

Wilbur served in the Coast Guard from May of 1989 through June of 2015 in a variety of jobs and locations including Maine, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Virginia, Rhode Island, Alaska, and California.  He has over 20 years of facilities management experience including construction project management, facilities operations and maintenance, master planning, and environmental compliance and restoration.

Since June of 2015, Wilbur has managed the Park Facility Management Division at the Washington Support Office of the National Park Service (NPS).  In that role, he manages 9 branches with 65 employees and is responsible for providing policy guidance and technical direction for the management of the NPS facility asset portfolio.

Wilbur is originally from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and lives with his wife, Chris, and their two children in Vienna, Virginia.  Chris is on the Board of Directors for SHARE, a local food pantry and family assistance non-profit organization.  Their son Jake, 20, is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College and plans to attend George Mason University in the Fall.  Their daughter Kaela, 19, is currently attending Clemson University and pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering.
