Event Details

We used to recruit board members from among our friends and acquaintances . . . no wonder we often run out of people in familiar circles to ask.

Today, recruiting is as much about knowing WHAT you want to recruit, as HOW to recruit. Building strong board leadership is an essential step in cultivating a thriving nonprofit.

Join Common Good Vermont and Jan Van Buren of Noonmark Services on April 27th for to learn the how and what of recruiting future board members.

The event will include networking time with light food and beverage.

Dr. Jane Van Buren has more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector the United States and internationally. She received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Northeastern University and a Doctor of Management (DM) from Case Western Reserve University. Van Buren is the founding executive director of the Vermont Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations and now consults with nonprofit organizations on management structure, board and organizational development, executive transition and strategic planning. Her research interest is the executive leadership of women in the nonprofit sector and ahe has taught graduate level management classes at the University of Vermont and Champlain College. She lives in Burlington where she operates Noonmark Services, a management consulting group. www.noonmarkservices.org
