Event description

Description

"The Board of Directors for a nonprofit is not only a legal requirement but also the foundation of the organization. Without a vibrant and healthy board that thinks and acts strategically with the mission in mind, the organization will have a challenge with sustainability."

This 45-minute training will:

- define the board member role

- detail internal and external roles and responsibilities

- discuss the four chacteristics of a highly effective board

- help you answer if you're really prepared to serve as a board member, and for nonprofit founders, whether you have the right people who are really ready to serve

"After this session, you as the Executive Director or board member, will have a better understanding of the Board of Directors as a whole and how each member plays a part in its success. You will also learn how to hold intentional meetings that lead to desired outcomes."
