BME in Leadership Conference 2019

**OPEN TO HALLAM AND UNI OF SHEFFIELD STUDENTS** student ID must be shown on arrival

Now in its third year, the Sheffield Hallam Students' Union annual BME (black and minority ethnic) in Leadership conference has established itself as the key event for students of Black, Asian, Arab and Caribbean Heritage interested in enhancing the capabilities & leadership opportunities. The conference & speakers will examine how BME individuals can continue to overcome barriers, build networks and become the leaders they aspire to be.

Drawing on the strengths of the 2018 event, this year's conference will centre on driving professional development & change. It will offer hands-on advice, practical steps and coaching on how to utilise opportunities effectively, how to reach your career/life goals, how to harness the power of emotional intelligence and more.

The conference is FREE to attend but spaces are limited!

1) Aaron Casserly Stewart: Founder & CEO of Paradise Hill Productions. Former singer with the three time Grammy Award winning group the Sounds of Blackness and former Mayor of his hometown of Parsons.

2) Doug Muzawazi: Skills & Development Manager at Sheffield Hallam Students' Union and student Development Professional. Douglas Muzawazi

3) Dr Lindy-Ann Blaize Alfred: Academic Practice Developer at Sheffield Hallam University and Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University Dr Lindy-Ann Blaize Alfred

4) Maxine Greaves: Equality and community engagement manager at Sheffield Hallam Univeristy

5) Manny Madriaga: Manny is currently Course Leader for BA (Hons) Education Studies in the Sheffield Institute of Education. His research interests are on the processes of social exclusion/inclusion related to 'race', ethnicity and disability. Manny Madriaga

6) Abdullah Okud: President at Sheffield Hallam Students'​ Union. Second year Mechanical Engineering Student who has taken a year out to lead a multimillion pound organisation alongside 4 other full time Officers.

7) Jamie Omar: Course Leader of Computer Science at Sheffield Hallam University Jamie Caine
