Description

Its three band Blues Night at 229 with the awesome Matt Woosey Band heading over from Germany plus :

Eddy Smith & The 507
Ruby & The Revelators

Matt Woosey

He is a man in motion. Acclaimed everywhere from the BBC (“Utter quality”) to Classic Rock (“Ambitious and electrifying”), he’s an artist who slips the creative handcuffs of the modern industry, a trailblazer with no reverse gear, a guitar visionary whose palette bleeds into folk, rock, ambient and electronica. “You’ve got to keep progressing,” reasons the singer-songwriter. “Like John Martyn. Like Robert Plant. Like Radiohead…”

After moving to Germany – and a chance encounter with the country’s best unsung players – Matt assembled a world-class lineup, and in 2018, promises an explosive live album and rocket-fuelled full-band sets across Europe.

Ruby & The Revelators

A 5 piece band soul and blues band hailing from Sussex, fronted by the magnetic and captivating singer Olivia Stevens (aka Ruby Tiger)
renowned for her effervescent and passionate performances. They are taking the 'blues' genre and giving it a good 'ole shake, eschewing rocky blues, and not a
standard 12 bar blues in sight. Instead they mix it up with Stax era soul grooves and display a modern sensibility for songwriting, resulting in a fresh and original sound, that crosses effortlessly from jazz to blues to funky
Northern soul and torch song balladry. This is a band that have slowly but surely been building momentum whilst finessing a unique sound to add into the UK jazz and blues mix!

Eddy Smith & The 507

Best of British: Critic's Choice Award winners, Eddy Smith & The 507 kicked off 2018 with their debut US tour, from Denver CO to Austin TX, where they played during the SXSW music festival.

The 5-piece recently played their biggest show to date, supporting The Milk at a sold out Islington Assembly Hall, where they performed for over 800 people.

The London-based Country Soul & Blues band, who's lead vocalist has been compared to the likes of Joe Cocker, Don Henley and Ray Lamontagne, will be releasing their debut album later this year after a successful Crowd-Funding campaign. The record is being produced by industry veteran, Stacy Parrish who has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Randy Newman and has a Grammy award for his work on the Krauss / Plant Collaboration album, Raising Sand.

"The finest meshes of Soulful Blues and melodic Pop you will hear this year" - The Blues Mag

"The Soul in Eddy's voice is where I want music to be at" - Huey Morgan, BBC6 Music

"Fun, Soulful grooves that won't fail to put a smile on your face." - GigSoup
