Event description

Description

The inaugural Blues & Brews featuring a number of area craft beer breweries will take over the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Marketplace from 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a full evening of entertainment. This all-new event combines the legendary Laguna Seca Recreation Area with nationally known music performances, the area’s best breweries and delicious food experiences.

There will be 10 Monterey County area breweries, such as Mad Otter Ale and English Ales, selling some of the finest craft beers from the region. It will be an extraordinary evening of blues and brews in the park-like setting of Laguna Seca.

Headlining the evening are The Fabulous Thunderbirds. For more than 30 years this quintessential American band has a distinctive sound influenced by a diversity of musical styles that is showcased by such hits as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Opening the show are the entertaining sounds of Commander Cody and Elektric Voodoo.

Produced by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula, the Blues & Brews festival is another step in capitalizing on the Laguna Seca Recreation Area as an entertainment venue. “There is so much we can do at this superb venue that is home to not only sports car racing and track rentals, but also the incredible Sea Otter Classic, Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot for the Food Bank of Monterey County and more events on the horizon,” explained Gill Campbell, general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Advance tickets are $25. Tickets will also be sold at the gate for $30 and there is plenty of free parking. For additional information, please call 831-242-8200.
