Event description
Sign Up to Clean Up! Join us on Saturday, September 28th on National Public Lands Day for a Clean Up at Blue Spring!

About this Event

Trash in the environment can be a big problem for manatees. During past Clean Ups at Blue Spring State Park, volunteers collected over 80 lbs of trash incl. bottles, cans, plastic wrappers, cigarette butts, discarded clothes, shoes, and more. Each item found on land can easily blow into the water and become a problem for manatees.

We will be meeting on Saturday, September 28th, 2019 at 8:30 a.m on the lawn in front of the Thursby House inside Blue Spring State Park. The Clean Up will take place on land, however if you have your own kayak, canoe, paddle board or snorkeling equipment, you are welcome to cleanup in /on the water as well. We will be providing supplies for on-land cleanup.

This is a collaboration between Blue Spring State Park and Save the Manatee Club.
