Event description

Description

7 teams. 3 slots on a launch into space.

Which teams will fly?

ASU NewSpace and the ASU Interplanetary Initiative welcomes Blue Origin's Head of Business Development, Dr. Erika Wagner, to the Tempe campus for a special and exciting event:

The BLUE ORIGIN Student Payload Pitch Competition

The Challenge: To conceptualize and build a mission payload for launch on-board Blue Origin’s New Shepard space vehicle.

Student-led teams will pitch their ideas and prototypes to special guest judges including space industry and academic professionals as well as a local venture capitalist for an opportunity to launch.

The New Shepard vertical takeoff and vertical landing vehicle is capable of carrying hundreds of pounds of payloads per flight and will ultimately carry six astronauts to altitudes beyond 100 kilometers, the internationally-recognized boundary of space. Come support the teams, and see the innovative and exciting efforts to reach beyond the stars!
