Event description
Bar Shiru and Blue Note Records bring you the Blue Note 80 listening sessions, celebrating 80 years of the iconic jazz label.

About this Event

Join us at Bar Shiru, the Bay Area's first and only hi-fi bar, for the third of three very special listening sessions celebrating the 80th anniversary of Blue Note Records. This third session, on Sunday November 17th at 4pm, will throw a spotlight on three iconic albums by three masters of the tenor saxophone: ETC by Wayne Shorter, The State of the Tenor by Joe Henderson and Clubhouse by Dexter Gordon. These records, which we will spin in their entirety, are all part of the Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series.

Blue Note President Don Was brought in “Tone Poet” Joe Harley—co-founder and co-producer of the acclaimed Music Matters audiophile vinyl series—to produce this new series of all-analog, mastered-from-the-original-master-tape 180g audiophile vinyl reissues in deluxe gatefold packaging. Mastering is by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) and vinyl is being manufactured at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI).

Space is limited! RSVP for access to priority seating in our main lounge. Note that those who RSVP will be seated in order of arrival, but are not guaranteed a seat.
