About this Event

In a landmark move for jazz and music education in the mountain communities around Lake Arrowhead, California, the Blue Jay Jazz Foundation will hold its 2019 Blue Jay Jazz Festival on three consecutive days for the first time in its 19-year history.

Festival 2019: Takin' it Lakeside will be held along the water's edge on the evenings of Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23 at the Arrowhead Lake Association's Tavern Bay Beach Club and at the Lake Arrowhead Resort overlooking the lake on Saturday afternoon, August 24.

The Thursday lineup includes the Cal State University San Bernardino Jazz Ensemble, an award-winning 19-piece big band with four singers that will perform a wide range including Big Band, Latin jazz, vocal jazz and blues, and the LA Jones Quartet, a nationally renowned jazz and blues band featuring singer-bassist Adrianna Marie.

On Friday, Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal makes his Blue Jay Jazz Festival debut leading a quartet featuring keyboardist Mitch Forman, bassist Andre Berry, and drummer Joel Taylor.

On Saturday, the Festival moves to the Lake Arrowhead Resort and an outdoor patio overlooking the lake for a midday concert featuring rising international star Yuko Mabuchi and her trio.
