Pre-Conference Workshop Overview

From UX to LX: Use Design Thinking to Create Learning Solutions that Work

9:00am-4:00pm

We live in a high-tech world where the user experience dictates choices in everything we do: what we buy, read, watch, and attend to. If we like the "user journey" we're on, we stay on it. If we don't, we opt out. Learning is no different. It's an experience, whether we plan it that way or not.

This workshop offers a hands-on experience in using design thinking philosophy and tools to create intentional learning experiences that get bottom-line results. It helps those responsible for designing experiences to design ones that lead to operational results. It helps executive leaders understand the key characteristics of a learning design process and outputs that deliver measurable results versus ones that do not.

You'll walk away with an ability to:

  • Explain what "design thinking" is and how it can help you design and implement more effective learning solutions.
  • Use a variety of design thinking processes and tools to help find the sweet spot between human needs, business viability, and technical feasibility.
  • Plan out a learning journey that considers the six steps required to take any learner from noticing a need to learn to consistent performance of skills or application of knowledge to their jobs.
  • Consider implementation strategies that ensure uptake and lead to operational results.
