Since 1949, New Contemporaries has organised an annual, open submission, touring exhibition for current and recent graduates. This high-profile platform has become nationally recognised as a barometer of work emerging from UK art schools. For approaching 70 years, we have played a significant role in giving a visibility to and thus defining generations of emerging UK-based artists.

Founded in October 2011, Block 336 is an artist-led project space, studio provider and UK registered charity. Bloomberg New Contemporaries will be the 29th exhibition to be presented by the organisation. Block 336 provides opportunities for ambitious projects, providing a sympathetic and supportive environment for the development of new work. It is committed to providing a platform for artists; offering them the freedom to experiment and test new ideas without the pressures of gallery sales. The production of rigorous projects with high production values continues to be central to its ethos. Block 336 relies on public grants, voluntary support and private donations to fund its programme, consistently prioritising the provision of time, space and support for the artists, curators and organisations that it works with.
