About this Event

For eight weeks every summer, the Bloomberg Arts Internship matches dozens of Cultural Alliance member organizations with exceptional high school seniors for paid internships, and engages many more as cultural immersion partners. That’s why we’re excited to share that the Cultural Alliance will host 2 information sessions this fall for member organizations interested in participating in next year’s program.

Since 2015, the Cultural Alliance has connected dozens of member organizations with talented and driven young people to fill vital summer internship roles. Through a rigorous recruitment, interview, and matching process, we have placed over 250 high school seniors from Philadelphia public schools in a wide variety of organizations and departments. Bloomberg interns have redesigned websites, built online curricula, facilitated summer camps, fabricated art installations, and spearheaded marketing campaigns. Additionally, organizations can engage with Bloomberg interns by hosting a weekly cultural site visit or cultural immersion activity.

The Cultural Alliance provides a robust support system to all our worksite partners:

- Dedicated program management staff to support worksites and supervisors

- Comprehensive pre-program worksite orientation

- Management of intern employment paperwork and payroll

- Program mentor visits to check-in on intern/worksite experience

- Weekly professional development for interns to improve workplace skills

- Worksites receive a $750 stipend per intern to support supervision

Cultural immersion partners play a crucial role in highlighting our region's arts and culture sector, as well as its career opportunities.

- At site visits, the cohort explores museum collections, talks with staff about their educational backgrounds and career trajectories

- When hosting activities online, weekly "deep dive" sessions highlight specific institutions, giving interns an opportunity to understand in detail their missions, history, and programs.

The Cultural will host two info sessions for members to learn more about participating as a worksite or cultural immersion partner on November 10th from 1 to 2PM, and December 10th from 2 to 3PM. RSVP now to join us and learn more about how the Bloomberg Arts Internship program can help your organization expand its capacity, reach new audiences, and help to establish a diverse workforce pipeline to our region's cultural sector.
