A charity dinner at Bloom in the Park on 17th January 2017, to support an orphanage and guarantee nutrition, medical care and education to 34 children in the Kivu Region (Congo).
“Bloom for Kivu” is a project about food, friendship and solidarity, organized by Titti Qvanström (Bloom in the Park, Malmö), Antonella Scatigna (La Taverna del Duca, Locorotondo - Italy) and Flavia Giordano, in partnership with the Italian association “Tutashinda”.
Antonella is an Italian cheffe and restaurateur who has been involved for 7 years in supporting this group of orphaned children from Katana village. Every year, she goes to Congo for a month to create a better future for them: donating part of her restaurant profit and organizing charity dinner in partnership with other chefs, she was able to built a school, with a kitchen, a garden and proper restrooms.
The next step is to buy and install solar panels to ensure electricity to the school.
When Titti met Antonella and Flavia in Italy and they talked about this project, Titti decided to host an event here in Sweden and help Antonella in her mission.
Sharing the same kitchen, mixing good, clean and fair local products from Malmö and Locorotondo area, Titti and Antonella will design and co-cook a unique menu for a special dinner at Bloom in the park.
All the proceeds will be donated to buy the solar panels for the orphanage.
