Event description

Description

The Bostonian Society is pleased to offer a special preview of its production Blood on the Snow, which will play at the Old State House during the summer of 2017. This one-hour event includes a performance of one of the play’s climactic scenes, followed by a discussion with the playwright, historian, and members of the cast.

Set against a backdrop of rebellion and intrigue, the Bostonian Society’s original production of Blood on the Snow by Boston playwright Patrick Gabridge brings to life the lesser-known events of March 6, 1770. On March 5, 1770 British soldiers killed four unarmed civilians and more were wounded. The next day the Boston Town Meeting demanded that the troops be removed immediately, or rumor suggested that 10,000 men would enter Boston and remove the soldiers by force. The descisions of Boston's leaders placed Massachusetts on the road to revolution.

Following the preview, participants can tour the Old State House.
