We are proud to announce a special presentation of Blood Country, our Mississippi-made Western, in Greenwood where several scenes from the movie were filmed.

Actor/Producer Matthew Horton, originally from Greenwood, Mississippi, will present the film along with others members of the cast and crew.

Tickets are 10 dollars per person in advance and 15 dollars at the door. The film showing will begin at 6:30pm. A reception following the Q&A with cast and crew will be held on the first floor of the Historic Elks Lodge.

Blood Country tells the true story of events which took place in and around Lawrence County in 1884, based on the short story by Robert E. Jones titled "The Outlaw, the Sheriff and the Governor". The film is about a man accused of killing his brother and the honorable sheriff who has to bring him to justice. Several scenes include the film's climax were filmed at the Florewood State Park.
