Event Details

This conference, an official event of Hong Kong Maritime Week, will provide an introduction to blockchain or distributed ledger technology to the Hong Kong shipping community. The conference speakers will examine how blockchain technology could reduce billions of dollars of cost in the shipping and logistics industries as well as examine legal implications that may arise from the use of blockchain technology and smart contracts. We will highlight specific use cases that include trade documentation, trade finance, cargo tracking and provenance, as well as ship registry and reputation. We will illuminate how identity verification technology will be important to blockchain's disruption of the shipping and logistics industries.
