If you have an idea or want to be involved in an amazing project that can make a difference in people's lives, join us for this ground-breaking hackathon.


Build a better future using blockchain to promote global peace with us.

Hosted by Peace Accelerators, Stanford's Peace Innovation Lab, and Bushwick Blockchain Alliance - Blockchain for Peace's "Law & Governance" hackathon will bring top Peace advocates, creative technologists, and blockchain experts into a room to devote their weekend to making the world a better place for everyone.

Developers, designers, and legal professionals are all invited to participate in this hackathon. You can build apps, design screens or logos, write whitepapers, and invent entirely new governance models.

Who Should Participate?

We welcome people of all job descriptions, whether you’re a designer, developer, lawyer, entrepreneur, project manager, politician or marketer. Diverse groups often work incredibly well together to produce the best results.

A diverse range of voices and ideas are urgently needed to find new and innovative ways to use technology to deliver new legal frameworks for modern society, developer governance models that leverage this centuries innovations, and create new ways for organizations to interact with each other around the world.

In particular, we are focused on elevating the voices of the female and under-represented members of society.

Hack Ideas

  • Build a futarchy DAO for the local Bushwick community.
  • Design holocratic self-organizing organizations influenced by biomimicry
  • Integrate TCRs into legal process for voting, bill proposition, and liquid democracy.

Prize Categories

Whether you build an app or write a whitepaper all submissions are reviewed together by category. Great ideas and hard work look the same no matter the end product.

Best Solution Design — Well thought out, detailed, practical, and with a sustainable business model.

Most Social Impact — The team who creates the most impactful solution according to the UN’s SDGs.

Code Bounties — All hackers can win prizes through Gitcoin bounties. Compete to solve code challenges for open-source projects like uPort, the best and fastest are immediately rewarded with ETH. Please set up your Gitcoin account in advance.

What You Need

  • Join hackathon Slack channel
  • Do your research, don't make something that already exists.
  • A brief description your project to pitch at team forming on Friday.
  • A dope team that's going to blow everyone away.

Program Schedule

07/27 - Friday

6pm - 10pm Social mixer, team forming, and sponsor introductions.

07/28 - Saturday

8am - 10pm hacking all day with advisor feedback sessions.

07/29 - Sunday

8am - 12pm hacking

12pm - 2pm presentations, superlatives, winner announced

2pm - 6pm Socializing
