Event description

Description

Blockchain technology has proven to be effective in disrupting existing industries and providing solutions for the common good. Studies show that 2018 will be a year of mass adaptation of this technology in both the private and public sector.

The inevitableness of a move towards a crypto-economy has called into question the role of the law and current systems in governing blockchain technology. It has made evident that our current systems and infrastructure are not effective or capable of providing solutions to these issues with blockchain
technology. This raises the issue of how to regulate this disruptive innovation without hindering its
advancement and adaptation.

This symposium examines these issues and possible solutions. By highlighting the importance of this
technology and its disruptive impact, this symposium proposes a much-needed solution that will ensure
the future success of blockchain technology.
