Do I need to bring materials?

Accepted Answer

We will provide instructions and materials to make the front of a quilt block.  If you wish to bring your own fabric and/or thread you may, but we will provide them as well.  Please note that we are only making the front; finishing the quilt (batting, binding, etc) is not part of this class.

Can I bring my child?

Accepted Answer

This class assumes some knowledge of sewing machines.  If your child is familiar with sewing machines, they are welcome. For safety, the youngest we allow at these classes are 14 years old. Minors 14-17 must be accompanied by a legal adult guardian.

Question 3

Do I need to bring tools?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to bring tools, however the library has scissors, shears, rotary cutters, rulers, cutting tables and mats, plus the regular array of small accessories such as seam rippers, measuring tapes, pins, fabric pencils and markers, needles, thimbles, bobbins, and more.

Is this a beginner-friendly class?

Accepted Answer

While this class is beginner-friendly, it does assume that you know the basics of using a sewing machine.  Block quilts can be very simple and we will be giving instructions, but basic sewing machines skills are required.
