About this event

Join us for a picnic-style craft beer tasting in the park. You will vote on your favorites for each style category. A blind taste test format will be available to remove any preconceptions or biases on who makes your favorite. The beer will speak for itself, brewers will earn prestige and we will all be enlightened.

Photo credits: Jeffrey Michael of Doc Hollywood took the Porch Flies band photos from last year's event. Kevin Hart donated the rights to use his bird photos to create the artwork for this event—many captured at the Carpentersville dam.

Attendees will try beers from several brewers and vote for their favorite in each of three categories—lawnmower beers, hoppy beers and fruity/sour beers. There will also be an area for doing a blind tasting to get a true blind flight experience.

After determining the favorite beers, we will award the winning breweries for their excellence. Here's a look at last year's winning beers.

Beer tasting tickets include a tasting glass. (Last year's shown, but this year we will be picking a new style of tasting glass—check back soon)

Designated driver tickets

For guests not drinking, we will just ask for a suggested donation of $10. Food, music and raffles are still available for DD guests. Only ticket holders will receive a tasting glass, but if extras are available, we will make them available for sale or as a raffle to raise more funds for charity.
