About this Event

BleachWatch is our citizen-science program designed to detect and monitor both coral bleaching and coral disease events in Southeast Florida. If you're a certified diver, take our free 2-hour classroom training course to learn how to submit reports of coral disease and coral bleaching! These reports are vital in monitoring the progress of the current coral disease epidemic we are facing in Florida and now in the Caribbean as well.

To become a BleachWatch observer, take one of our upcoming free 2-hour classes that will provide you with the training you need to recognize coral bleaching and coral disease, and how to differentiate between the two. You will become a trained BleachWatch observer after learning how submit reports of coral bleaching and coral disease sightings (and why it's just as important to report signs of no bleaching or disease) on the reef!

Whether you've taken a class before but want a refresher or this is you're first time attending a training, don't miss this chance to learn about coral disease and coral bleaching, and the way you can get involved in BleachWatch- our citizen-science program!
