Blackout is a 1-Day Fall Retreat for all Middle School and High School students. Every year, hundreds of students from all over Tuscaloosa come together for a great day of fun, worship, competitive games, and much more. One team will walk away with the coveted, Blackout Cup.

All students need to bring a SACK LUNCH and a LAWN CHAIR.


Q: Who can participate in Blackout?

A: Middle School & High School (6th-12th grades) students.

Q: How much does Blackout cost?

A: $35 before October 1. $40.00 after October 1. A small fee will be charged for online payment/registration.

Q: What is the address to Camp Tuscoba?

A: 2900 Camp Tuscoba Road, Northport, AL (off Union Chapel Road)

Q: What time does Blackout begin?

A: Blackout registration begins at 8:30 am. Parents please drop your student off at the Tuscoba Gym and keep moving around the circle. Volunteers will be on the road to guide you in the right direction.

Q: What time does Blackout end?

A: Blackout will end at 8:00 pm. Please don't be late picking up your child.

Q: What do I need to bring to Blackout?

A: You will need to bring a sack LUNCH and a LAWN CHAIR. (Dinner will be provided) A refillable water bottle also might be a good thing to bring.

Q: What do I need to wear to Blackout?

A: Wear your team color which will be announced on Thursday, October 26 via Social Media and through email. Wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes.

Q: Who will be on my Blackout team?

A: We do our best to divide the teams with students of all ages. You are guaranteed at least 1 friend/guest on your team but we can't promise more than that.

Q: Can I change teams?

A: No.

Q: What is for dinner?

A: We will be grilling out hamburgers and hotdogs served with all the fixin's. We will have soft drinks and water to drink.

Q: May I drive my own car?

A: Yes. Students may drive his or her own vehicle with parent permission. The parking lot will be on a grass field on the right as you enter Camp Tuscoba.

Q: May I bring my cellphone?

A: Yes. We want you to take a lot of pictures. Cell phones will not be allowed at certain times during the day. If you have social media, we encourage you to share your pictures using the hashtag, #ttownblackout17.

Q: Do we get a cool shirt?

A: Of course! Do your best to keep it clean because we want you to wear it to church on Sunday.

Q: What time is church on Sunday?

A: We are inviting all Blackout participants and their families to First Baptist Church on Sunday. Wear your Blackout t-shirt. We have worship services at 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Student Ministry Sunday School is at 9:45 am.
