Black@Homecoming: Healing and Community for Alum, Students, and Families of Hawken, Hathaway Brown, Laurel, and University School

About this Event

Inspired by the @BlackatHB Instagram account and the stories shared of current and former BIPOC students of color and their experiences with racism and other forms of discrimination at school, NEO independent school alumnae, presented by the Ellipsis Institute for Womxn of Color in the Academy, created Black@Homecoming, a 3 day virtual homecoming event designed to amplify the voice of of Black, Indigenous, People of Color who currently matriculate or have graduated from Hathaway Brown, Hawken, Laurel or University School.

The goal of Black@Homecoming is to create a space for healing and fellowship among BIPOC students, alumni, parents & families. Black@Homecoming seeks to amplify the message of @BlackatHB by providing the opportunity for people to share their stories, to become active building a new and more inclusive alumni network and to cultivate community among BIPOC who attend(ed) independent schools in Northeast Ohio.
