Description

The 5th Annual Black Family Summit is an event filled with activities and educational workshopsconducted by local and national experts addressing issues facing today’s Black families.


HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday special attractions will include the call to action by the Kuumba African Drummers
A “No More” unity prayer (A time when churches, organizations and individuals will pray for peace
simultaneously across the County)
Keynote speaker – Sherrie Massie
Workshops on education, entrepreneurship, men’s issues and a social service corner.

Special presentation
Melanie Campbell; President and CEO of the Black Women’s Roundtable and the National Coalition on Black Civic
Participation based in Washington, DC.

Goals:

  • To assist participants in establishing a better self-worth
  • To provide tools in assisting in working toward building healthy relationships
  • To promote a sense of responsibility and accountability for one’s self
  • To create a network comprised of community and faith-based leaders, organizations,social services and health care experts
  • To strategize solutions to assist in improving the betterment of the Black community
