Event description

Description

Two women are diagnosed with breast cancer. They are the same age, same height, and same weight. They have the same educational background and income level. One is Black. The other is White.

Although these women have a lot in common, their journeys with breast cancer will probably be different. Breast cancer is different for Black women for several reasons. Knowing what you’re up against can prepare you for the challenges that lie ahead. Dr. Karen Winkfield, PhD, Radiation Oncology will give you a clearer understanding of the breast cancer disparities between black women and other races. Rhonda M. Smith, Founder of Breast Cancer Partner will join the discussion regarding breast cancer disparities and how to renew, rejuvenate, and revive after breast cancer, and finally Dr. Vikki Johnson, CEO of Authentic Living Enterprises, best-selling author - "Addicted to Counterfeit Love", who has been featured in Jet, Essence, and Upscale magazine, 18 years at BET - Mentor, Chaplain, Sisterhood Advocate, will enter and close out the afternoon with transitioning.
