What is AFRORUN?
AFRORUN is a 5K running awareness plan developed to celebrate natural Afro textured hair and promote melanin empowerment. AFRORUN is for absolute beginners to get into running. The beginners' running plan was developed by Zaikoh to help get those our community to get off the couch and start running. The plan involves one run a week, with a different running location every 3 months.
How does AFRORUN work?
The biggest challenge when getting into exercise is not knowing how or where to start. Often when trying to get into exercise, we can overdo it, feel defeated and give up when we’re just getting started. AFRORUN works because we do it together in a group, to gradually build up your fitness and stamina. We believe that running with others helps to create realistic expectations and makes the challenge feel achievable right from the start.
Who is AFRORUN for?
AFRORUN is for those with Afro textured hair. Whether your hair is relaxed, natural or you are thinking to go natural. As well as this, AFRORUN is for those who have never run before, or for those that want to get back into being more active. AFRORUN is a free and easy way of getting fitter and healthier.
