In conjunction with WAA’s conference theme of “Black Arts @ WAA”, the City of LA – Performing Arts Program is producing three Presenter Showcases and Networking Receptions

Los Angeles is a historic home and current hotbed for radical queer performance and two of LA’s leading curators, MJ Brown aka Miss Barbie-Q and Kai Hazelwood, of performance and nightlife will join forces to produce an artist showcase for WAA membership and LA’s LGBTA performance community. Featuring leading performance artists and night life entertainers, the Black Queer Arts Showcase makes space for LA’s leading Black artists during the WAA conference at REDLINE, one of LA’s legendary gay venues. This event will occur immediately following the WAA Juried Showcase at the JACCC (see conference schedule). Free and open to everyone. Artists to be announced. Must be 21+ to enter. This is 5 minute uber/lyft ride from conference hotel. This event will occur immediately following the WAA Juried Showcase. This event is followed by a dance party hosted by Shockrocker69.
