Educators! Need a space to share and work through lessons for liberation, come through!
The now National Black Lives Matter at Schools week of action is from February 4-8 this year! NYC educators are excited to be a part of this grassroots effort for the second year!
In preparation for the week of actions around the 13 guiding principles, we'll be exploring lessons that have been collected from educators across the country and help each other plan for teaching them during the week of action and beyond.
**The beautiful posters featuring the 13 Guiding Principles will be available in its originial text and in child friendly language. This year's NYC BLM at Schools shirts will also be available for sale.**
Start time is 9:30: Sign in and have some bagels and coffee.
At 10 a.m. we'll get together in the auditorium to orient ourselves to what brings us together and get an e-tour of the curriculum folders on the website.
11 we'll break out into early childhood, elementary, middle, high school, arts groups and get a little presentation on curriculum in more depth.
12:30 LUNCH will be provided
1:30 Unconferencing: People can get into synergy groups to work out topics and issues that emerge from our work together this day.
2:30-3:30 Closing/Clean-Up
We will have childcare! Please complete the questionnaire to let us know.
