This lecture tour will give an overview of Detroit's Black History from the first known Black inhabitants to its present-day status as a Black majority city. The period of enslavement, the Underground Railroad, the Great Migration, Detroit's Paradise Valley and Black Bottom,Motown Records, the riots & rebeliions, THE MUSIC AND THE SPORTS, and the rise and fall of Black Power in Detroit will be discussed.
