Event description

Description

The Black history-themed tour of the United Nations will grant you a unique look at the Ark of Return, a permanent memorial in honor of the victims of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade. The special tour will also include access to the Security Council Chamber, the Trusteeship Council Chamber, and the General Assembly Hall and will be followed by a briefing with a UN Official on the human rights of those of African descent.

Briefing and discussion to follow the tour.

Participants are expected to listen actively and ask questions, practice networking skills during the trip, and fill out a brief survey after the excursion. Please wear business-casual attire (no jeans or sneakers).

Please sign-up only if you are sure that you can attend. Space is limited; once we reach capacity, we will keep a waitlist.

The trip is FREE and open to ALL students, except each student is responsible for subway fare.

The meeting location will be sent in the confirmation email. Sarit Abramowicz will lead the trip and travel with the group.

The deadline to sign-up is by January 31st, however, spots may fill up before that date.

NOTE ON TIMING: We need to arrive at the UN by 12:15 in order to go through their security process. We will leave campus at 11:15am.
